Bradley Cooper (The Hangover Part II) is set to star opposite Ryan Gosling in the crime drama The Place Beyond the Pines, reports Variety.
The film is about a motorcycle rider (Gosling) who, after having a child, begins robbing banks to support the baby. Cooper will play the part of a rookie cop who goes up against Gosling’s character.
Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine) co-wrote the script with Ben Coccio. Cianfrance will direct the movie, financed and produced by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.
Filming will start on July 25 in Schenectady, N.Y.
