Following the new photos and character posters released earlier, Marvel Studios and IMAX have revealed a new first look at the upcoming Doctor Strange featuring a ton of new footage from the mystical side of the MCU. If that whets your appetite for the movie, then good news, the pair have also announced that an exhibition of 15 minutes of exclusive footage from the film across 115 North American theaters on October 10 at 7 PM.
“As a movie fan, I am thrilled to take audiences along on the visual journey of ‘Doctor Strange’ and give them an early peek at what we’ve been working on,” director Scott Derrickson said. “The completed film will feature more than an hour of specially formatted IMAX sequences that will provide audiences with a totally immersive—and mind-blowing—film-going experience and I’m excited to share a taste of that with our fans on 10/10.”

Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme along with Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) as Baron Mordo, Benedict Wong as Wong, with Tilda Swinton (Only Lovers Left Alive) as The Ancient One and Mads Mikkelsen (“Hannibal”) as the villain Kaecilius. Rachel McAdams (The Vow), Michael Stuhlbarg (Pawn Sacrifice), Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum), and Amy Landecker (“Transparent”) also star.
The film is directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Deliver Us From Evil) from a script by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus, Passengers) and C. Robert Cargill (Sinister). Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.
Doctor Strange opens in theaters on Friday, November 4, 2016.
