September 13 brings home Captain America: Civil War, Marauders, Popstar, The Conjuring 2 and more!

With a worldwide box office totaling more than $1.152 billion, Marvel‘s Captain America: Civil War kicks off a busy September 13 release Tuesday. Other recent big screen hits coming home include Warner Bros.‘ The Conjuring 2 and Universal Pictures‘ Popstar: Never Stop Stopping.
Also coming home September 13 is the action thriller Marauders, starring Bruce Willis, Christopher Meloni and Dave Bautista. We’ve got an exclusive deleted scene from the Steven C. Miller, which you can check out in the player below.
September 13 also brings home De Palma, the acclaimed documentary about director Brian De Palma, itself directed by filmmaker Noah Baumbach (Frances Ha, Mistress America). Arriving on DVD only, meanwhile, is the excellent indie drama The Automatic Hate and, from Virgil Films, the charming documentary See the Keepers: Inside the Zoo.
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment celebrates the 30th anniversary of James Cameron’s iconic sci-fi sequel with a new edition of 1986’s Aliens. Although the disc is the same as the previous release, it now comes housed in a deluxe package and includes access to a new featurette (available via streaming).
Warner Archive this week brings the 1955 musical Love Me or Leave Me to Blu-ray while simultaneously delivering to MOD DVD the 1932 drama When a Feller Needs a Friend. Then, if you’re in the mood for a western marathon, they’re this week debuting the ninth volume of their Monogram Cowboy Collection. This one includes The Gentleman from Texas (1946), Trailing Danger, Land of the Lawless, The Law Comes to Gunsight, Code of the Saddle, Flashing Guns (1947), Frontier Agent, The Fighting Ranger and The Sheriff of Medicine Bow (1948).
Shout! Factory then delivers an exceptional Blu-ray edition of the 1986 animated Transformers movie, a collector’s edition Scream Factory take on Brian De Palma’s Raising Kaine and the 1983 cult movie Metalstorm 3D: The Destruction of Jared-Syn.
Kino Lorber continues to bring the works of Fritz Lang to HD with the 1922 silent film Dr. Mabuse: The Gambler. The Criterion Collection, meanwhile, turns its attention to Kenji Mizoguchi’s 1939 The Story of the Last Chrysanthemum.
Synapse Films helps fans gear up for Halloween with a Blu-ray of Dario Argento’s 1982 Giallo Tenebrae, while the week also brings finally brings to Blu-ray Toho’s modern classic Godzilla 1984.
Other catalogue horror titles include two Universal Monsters Legacy Collections. The Frankenstein set brings to Blu-ray Abbott And Costello Meet Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, Frankenstein, Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man, The Ghost of Frankenstein, House of Dracula, House of Frankenstein, and Son of Frankenstein. The Wolf Man set then offers up Abbott And Costello Meet Frankenstein, Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man, House of Dracula, House of Frankenstein, She-Wolf of London, Werewolf Of London, and The Wolf Man. If that isn’t enough monsters, there’s also a Hammer Horror Collection, which includes Brides of Dracula, The Curse of the Werewolf, Phantom of the Opera, Paranoiac, Kiss of the Vampire, Nightmare, Night Creatures, and The Evil of Frankenstein.
Small screen titles arriving on Blu-ray September 13 include the ninth season of CBS’ hugely-successful sitcom The Big Bang Theory and the fourth season of A&E‘s crime drama Longmire. Titles hitting DVD only, meanwhile, include the first season of ABC‘s new hit Quantico, seconds seasons of FOX‘s Empire and CBS’ Scorpion and Madam Secretary, the third season of NBC‘s Chicago PD and the sixth season of CBS’ Hawaii Five-O.
Rounding out the week’s television titles, Shout! Factory delivers the sixth season of the classic 1980s sitcom, Newhart.
Digital releases arriving the week of September 13 include the Kevin Hart / Dwayne Johnson action comedy team up Central Intelligence, the well-received shark survival thriller The Shallows (starring Blake Lively), Duncan Jones‘ video game adaptation Warcraft and the romantic comedy Who Gets the Dog?, starring Ryan Kwanten and Alicia Silverstone. Debuting to iTunes only, meanwhile, is Taika Waititi‘s fantastic Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
