American Idiot, the 2004 Green Day album-turned Broadway musical is being geared up for the big screen. Deadline reports that Universal is looking to adapt the property with Dustin Lance Black potentially providing the screenplay.
Though much is speculative at this stage, the article suggests that the band’s frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong, may play the lead, Saint Jimmy, in the story of suburban youths raging against their situation.
