Joe Pesci Signed, Lindsay Lohan in Talks for Gotti

Joe Pesci has signed to play Gotti deputy Angelo Ruggiero in Gotti: Three Generations, and Lindsay Lohan is in talks to play Victoria Gotti in the film, it was announced this morning. As was previously announced, John Travolta will play American mobster John Gotti Sr., and they’re in talks but not ready to announce the actor who will play Gotti, Jr. Ella Bleu Travolta will have a featured role in the film as well.

ComingSoon.net attended a press conference for the film this morning in New York which was attended by Lohan, though her deal is not yet finalized they said.

The movie was described as an “open door insider’s look” and they have interviewed John Gotti Jr., Victoria, family lawyer Charlie Cinelli and others who knew Gotti.

Nick Cassavetes will direct the biopic on Gotti’s life from the point of view of his son with principal photography slated to start in October. Fiore Films is financing and producing.

Actor-writer Leo Rossi (Analyze This) wrote the screenplay for the film, which reveals the relationship of a father who lived and died by the mob code and a son who chose to leave that world behind and redeem himself.

John Gotti was head of the Gambino crime family, which in its time was the largest and most powerful crime organization in the country. Known as the “Dapper Don,” John Gotti’s flamboyant style and outspoken personality made him one of the most famous mobsters of the 20th century and he ruled the underworld until he died from cancer in 2002 while serving a life sentence. In 1988, at the age of 24, Gotti Jr. became a “made man,” and was officially inducted into the Mafia, making him the heir-apparent to head the Gambino crime family.
