Walter Hill has signed on to direct Headshot for Warner Bros., Aint It Cool News is reporting.
The word arrives directly from the film’s star, Sylvester Stallone, who adds:
“We’ve been on the same track since ‘The Driver’, then ’48 Hrs’ didn’t happen so here we are almost 35 years later, I’m finally driving with Walter Hill.”
In addition to the two titles mentioned, Hill was the man responsible for helming The Warriors, Brewster’s Millions and more. With Headshot he’ll adapt a three-book graphic novel series by Alexis Nolent.
The storyline features an unlikely alliance between a cop and a hitman (Stallone) that takes place after each watches his partner die. The new partners seek revenge and discover they have a shared enemy and much in common despite being on opposite sides of the law.
The script arrives from Alessandro Camon and the film is set to be produced by Alexandra Milchan and “Smallville” creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.
