IBM robots make new Morgan trailer
It’s finally happened! The robots have taken over Hollywood!
We ran our review of director Luke Scott’s robo-kid-gone-bad sci-fi horror flick Morgan this morning and we were sort of on the fence. You can read that review here.
But as we prepare for the Ridley Scott-produced film’s Friday, September 2nd bow, scientists at IBM Research have collaborated with 20th Century Fox to create the first-ever cognitive movie trailer for the film. That’s right, Artificial Intelligence systems at IBM analyzed hundreds of horror/thriller movie trailers and, after learning what keeps audiences on the edge of their seats, the machine suggested the top 10 best candidate moments for a trailer for Morgan, which an IBM filmmaker then edited and arranged together.
While we think this is pretty cool, we’re also terrified of Judgement Day, so ultimately this leaves us feeling more than a bit spooked.
What do you think?
Morgan tells the tale of a corporate troubleshooter (Kate Mara) sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident. She learns the event was triggered by a seemingly innocent “human” (Anya Taylor-Joy), who presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.
Morgan opens in theaters on Friday everywhere.
