Erotic horror thriller Siren to premiere this weekend at Wizard World in Chicago
There’s that great The Twilight Zone episode called “The Howling Man”, written by the late Charles Beaumont, in which a man releases The Devil himself from a monastery, thinking he’s simply releasing a man from an unjust imprisonment. The act has dire consequences for all involved.
It seems director Gregg Bishop’s new horror feature Siren has some of this classic episode’s DNA, albeit juiced up with ample sex and lurid modern trappings.
Siren (which is an expansion of David Bruckner’s short film Amateur Night) stars Chase Williamson (The Guest, John Dies at the End), Justin Welborn (The Final Destination), Michael Aaron Milligan (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Hayes Mercure (Mascots), Randy McDowell (Elvis) and the wide-eyed Hannah Fierman (V/H/S), who is fast becoming my favorite indie genre actress.
Siren will be screening at the Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago this weekend on Sunday, Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. at the Muvico Rosemont and then at FRIGHTFEST in London on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Discovery Screen Two.
Chiller Films will be releasing the film in theaters on December 2, 2016 and on VOD, Digital HD and DVD December 6th.
Here’s the official Siren synopsis:
Jonah is an apprehensive groom-to-be whose bachelor party turns into a nightmare when he frees a seemingly innocent victimized girl locked up in a supernatural sex club. Her ruthless handler and proprietor of the sex club will stop at nothing to re-capture his prize. Jonah struggles to rescue the girl only to discover it is he who needs to be rescued as he comes to the realization that she is a dangerous fabled predator who has chosen him as her prize.
No trailer to look at yet, but this one looks good to our tired, bloodshot eyes. What do you think?
