Indie creeper The Neon Dead coming to DVD in September
Horror journos are calling FX artist-turned-director Torey Haas’ debut feature The Neon Dead a hybrid of Ghostbusters and Suspira and judging by the trailer below, that description doesn’t appear to be all that far off.
The film follows the plight of an unemployed college graduate (Marie Barker) who hires two paranormal exterminators (Mark Ashworth, Greg Garrison) to combat a monster infestation in her new home. But their prodding into an evil out of their depth unleashes an ancient demon. He and his army of monsters quickly overrun the home, intent on possessing every human they make contact with.
It’s clear that the marketing team is trying to riff on Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon here, with its color-crazy, giallo-informed packaging (that film also hits Blu-ray/DVD and VOD in September). Though the two movies couldn’t be further apart, content wise.
Wild Eye Releasing will release The Neon Dead on DVD and Digital HD on September 13th.
