SOA creator Kurt Sutter to pen new horror comic series.
Horror comic fans and obsessives of the beloved bad biker TV series SONS OF ANARCHY would be wise to mark June 1st in their calendars. That’s the day that BOOM! Studios will release the first issue of SOA creator Kurt Sutter’s new comic book series LUCAS STAND, the first original comic series from Sutter featuring a grizzled anti-hero who could easily give Jax Teller a run for his money…
LUCAS STAND tells the tale of the same-named military vet who cant reintegrate into society and has emotionally cut himself off from the people he loves. At his lowest, Lucas does something he can’t take back. Hell comes calling, offering him the opportunity to make things right. Demons escaping Hell are upsetting the balance of evil, and now Lucifer has recruited Lucas to send them back. It doesn’t matter in what era the demons escapeWorld War II, old-timey Hollywood, Vietnam, present dayhe must learn to fit in both the past and the present. Given new purpose, Lucas starts to rebuild himself and his life, even as he struggles at the human cost that comes with it.
The 6 issue series was announced today at WonderCon. LUCAS STAND is written by Sutter and Caitlin Kittredge with art by Jesús Hervás. The main cover art – pictured above – is by Lee Bermejo.
Sutter had previously been developing the LUCAS STAND concept as an FX original series. No word as to if that project will ever re-surface.
