Hamilton! Director George Mihalka to Host Screening of Slasher Classic MY BLOODY VALENTINE!

Legendary Canadian slasher flick to screen in Hamilton with director in attendance.

Just half an hour outside of Toronto, in Ontario, Canada, you’ll find the historical city of Hamilton, a place of both beauty and terror, of splendor and decay. Of steel, fire, castles and coolness.

In the past few years, a burgeoning cult film community has sprouted up in Hamilton, with the Horror in the Hammer movement, the Fright Night Film Festival and the re-location of exploitation movie culture institution Trash Palace to the city.

Oh, and for trivia’s sake, DARK SHADOWS’ original Barnabas Collins himself, Jonathan Frid, was born in Hamilton to a wealthy family of industrialists and he even died there.

Add Canadian filmmaker George Mihalka to the list of cool horror things happening in Hamilton. He lives there now. Wicked.

As you can see above, Mihalka will be screening his signature slasher effort, 1981’s awesome blue-collar cut-em-up MY BLOODY VALENTINE in time for both its 35th anniversary and Valentine’s Day. The event is a presentation of Fright Night Theatre.

If you’re in the hood or close by, you can pre-order you tix by going here.

SHOCK will be there. Or at least this writer will be…see you there?
