Family (Dys)Function: Trailer, Art, Premiere Details for Estranged

In director Adam Levins’ Estranged, premiering this month at the Newport Beach Film Festival, a wheelchair-bound woman suffering from memory loss returns to the gothic manor and overbearing family she once fled. It seems she must learn all over again how terrible relatives can be.

From producer Steven Schneider (Paranormal ActivityInsidious), UK Horror Estranged will World Premiere Wednesday, April 29th as part of the Newport Beach Film Festival in Costa Mesa. In the film: “Due to a near-fatal accident that has left her incapacitated and suffering long-term memory loss, a wheelchair-bound woman returns home after being abroad for six years accompanied by her bohemian boyfriend, the apparent cause of the accident. Unable to remember her family or her own childhood, she sets out to uncover the reason for her leaving all those years ago.  She quickly discovers her beloved relatives may not be as loving as they appeared to be.”

Estranged is one of the first productions from Schneider’s Vicarious label, which is also producing the upcoming Day of the Dead remake. Estranged looks a good deal mad and claustrophobic. If you’re in Newport Beach, you can find ticket info for the 8:15 p.m. premiere at the Starlight Triangle 8 Cinemas here
