Jurassic World Goes Monster Movie in New Trailer

The inherently silly, but sort of delightful concept of Chris Pratt training and riding with a raptor crew is doubled down on in the new trailer for upcoming sequel Jurassic World. Also delightful: the clip’s full bore monster movie vibe with the dinosaurs, both the genetically engineered Indominus Rex and the old standards, on all-out attack.

Indominus Rex is on the hunt, highly intelligent and killing for sport. It’s huge, sure, but it’s the Pterodactyls plucking from the packed crowds of Jurassic World that’s the real seller here. The ultimate worst-case scenario of an open dinosaur theme park/zoo is realized and hopefully director Colin Treverrow and the VFX wizards deliver on creature feature chaos.

Jurassic World is in theaters June 12th. Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Vincent D’onofrio, BD Wong and Irrfan Khan star.
