Cult Epics Releases J

Following their limited editions of his Nekromantik films, Cult Epics—another label pushing Blu into the collectors medium it should be—will bring Jörg Buttgereit’s Der Todesking to DVD & Blu-ray in a limited edition of 3,000 this June.

Fangoria announced the release, which will feature a new, uncut director-approved transfer from the original 16mm negative. The 1990 film is described on Buttgereit’s site as having “no central character or characters, but instead thematic continuity in the act of suicide. Divided into days of the week, it comprises of a series of set-pieces, each of which featuring the self-destruction of a complete stranger.”
