Elle Fanning in Talks for Nicolas Refn’s The Neon Demon

Elle Fanning the neon demonThings have been relatively quiet on the Nicolas Winding Refn front since the release of his crime-thriller Only God Forgives, but back in November it was announced the Drive director would be making a horror film called The Neon Demon. That looks like it’s moving forward with TheWrap reporting that Elle Fanning is in talks for the lead.

Co-written by Mary Laws, the film being funded by Gaumont and Wild Bunch is a female-driven horror film that Refn will co-produce with Lena Borglum with plans to start filming in March. According to the story, Fanning will play an aspiring model “caught in a world of beauty and demise.”

The director had this to say about the actress taking on the role: “Elle Fanning is a super cool wonder woman and I look forward to going on a terrifying trip with her into ‘The Neon Demon.'”

Before then, Fanning will be seen in Jay Roach’s Trumbo opposite Bryan Cranston, and Three Generations with Naomi Watts, as well as co-starring in Ben Affleck’s Live By Night
