Blake Lively (upcoming Green Lantern) and Eddie Redmayne (upcoming My Week with Marilyn) are joining Chloe Moretz in the Derick Martini-directed dramedy Hick, reports Variety.
The film is an adaptation of Andrea Portes’ novel. Portes wrote the script based on her debut novel, which tracks a 13-year-old Nebraska girl who gets more than she bargained for when she runs away to Las Vegas.
The trade says that “Lively will play a grifter who meets Moretz’s character on the road and takes the girl under her wing. Redmayne would play another loner who tries luring Moretz away and also shares a past with Lively.”
Steven Siebert and Christian Taylor will produce through Siebert’s Lighthouse Entertainment and Taylor’s Taylor Lane Productions. Charles de Portes is executive producing.
