Now, this was the film we told you about last October that had writer Polly Stenham attached.
At that time, the project was being described as an all-female horror film. Stenham – a playwright – told The Standard: “He’s got a lot of stick for doing films some people think are violently misogynistic. So he approached me with the idea of doing something different.”
Carey Mulligan of Drive was rumored to star. We’ll see if she’s still on board when Refn begins shooting I Walk With the Dead this summer in Los Angeles.
This film is just one of a few projects that seem to be appeasing the director’s appetite for horror. He’s shepherding a remake of Maniac Cop and he’s also circling a Sony horror film entitled The Bringing.
