Although Darren Lynn Bousman has been talking about it publicly since 2009 – not just here at Shock, but on his social media channels – the existence of his new film, Abattoir is being made “official” via a trade break at Variety today.
The director of Saw II – IV and The Barrens is in pre-production on the haunted house thriller for Radical Studios.
He’ll be working from a script by Chris Monfette.
Abattoir centers on a Boston real-estate reporter who unearths an urban legend about someone who has spent decades buying homes where horrific tragedies have occurred and piecing them together, ultimately leading to the enigmatic Jebediah Crone and the answer to the terrifying question: How do you build a haunted house?
