Having starred in one of the biggest films of 2010, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, and been a part of the award-winning ensemble of Lisa Cholodenko’s The Kids Are All Right, 21-year-old actress Mia Wasikowska is looking at two projects to do next, John (The Road) Hillcoat’s prohibition-era crime drama The Wettest County in the World opposite Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy, and Fox Searchlight’s Stoker.
Hillcoat’s film, written by singer Nick Cave based on the novel by Matt Bondurant, has been in the works for a number of years and just got new life last year. Masikowska would be joining Carey Mulligan and Jodie Foster in the Ridley and Tony Scott-produced film based on Ted Foulke’s “Black List” screenplay about a teen whose father recently died and whose uncle shows up one day.
According to Variety, whether she does one or both films will be determined by whether her reps can work out her schedule, but she already stars in two movies coming out in 2011, a new movie based on Jane Eyre in March and Gus Van Sant’s Restless.
