Robert Pattinson will play the lead in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, reports Deadline.
The film, based on Don DeLillo’s novel, follows Eric Packer, a multi-millionaire across Manhattan as he goes through his fortune in a 24-hour attempt to get a haircut.
The film was previously announced to star Colin Farrell in the Packer role with Marion Cotillard as his wife. Deadline now indicates that Cotillard will remain and that the cast may also include Paul Giamatti.
Pattinson is, of course, best known for his breakout role in The Twilight Saga and will next star in the Francis Lawrence film Water for Elephants, hitting theaters on April 22, 2011.
