TV Line breaks the news that the shoes of Grandpa Munster will be filled by Eddie Izzard (The Riches) when NBC’s Munsters reboot, Mockingbird Lane, makes its debut.
Al Lewis was best known as Grandpa in the original The Munsters television series.
Izzard marks the first cast member to join Mockingbird Lane, which is being developed by Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) and executive produced by Bryan Singer.
Rather than playing for humor, the show is said to take a darker approach.
