Horror-thriller in early development
David Ellis may reunite with his Shark Night 3D star Sara Paxton for The Briar Lake Murders.
The thriller, penned by Walter Jakubowski, Neal Fischer and David Nevarez, is one of many films Ellis presently has on his plate; this one is in the early stages of development.
The story focuses on a group of 20-somethings who take a jaunt into the country for a vacation at a remote lake house. The locals are a bit peculiar and when two of them wind up dead, the authorities pin the murders on the lake house “outsiders.” As the bodies pile up, the group have to work together to uncover Briar Lake’s sinister past.
Hmm, Ellis and Paxton heading back to familiar territory after Shark Night, can’t see that happening, but if the film starts to move forward, we’ll let you know.
