Three hunters and one asshole dog
G4 will an enjoy an Epictober Film Fest this month. As we told you here (with photos!), the channel has commissioned three short films…horror tales, produced by Joe Lynch (Chillerama, Knights of Badassdom), based on the popular video games Mario Kart, Angry Birds and Duck Hunt.
Leading the pack and ready to premiere on October 24 is The Hunt (the Duck Hunt flick, of course) and we’ve got an exclusive first look at the poster.
“While I love horror and video games, what drew me to this was that we weren’t focusing on horror games, if you will,” director Sam Balcomb tells Shock. “It’s not like we were making literal translations of Castlevania or Silent Hill. The idea was to apply the horror sensibility to perfectly normal games. In our case, Duck Hunt. I think my pitch was literally ‘Duck Hunt meets Jaws,’ because of the relationship of the three hunters. And of course you have Asshole Dog, the biggest videogame monster of them all.”
The other shorts, Kart Driver and Birds of Anger, play October 25 and 26. Head to G4Films for a peek at the trailer for the latter.
