Country superstar turned actor Tim McGraw has signed on to the Daniel Espinosa production Safe House, set to star Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds.
McGraw spoke with ComingSoon.net today at the press junket for his upcoming film, Country Strong. Expressing his initial reluctance at taking a role so close to the country music scene, McGraw said that’s he’d have an opportunity for a dramatic change in the upcoming actioner which will soon enter production in South Africa.
The film is said to star Reynolds as a young CIA agent who becomes the house sitter of a governmental safe house. Washington will play a criminal in hiding there who must be transported to another location when the house comes under attack. There are no current details as to what role McGraw will be playing.
Country Strong opens in theaters everywhere on January 7th, 2011 with Safe House currently planned for February 10, 2012.
