Does the world need another one?
Details are skimpy at best. But, what B-D does know is that Ghost House isn’t done with The Grudge.
Another film is in development, likely a reboot since the American version of the spookshow arguably turned sour by the time The Grudge 2 hit theaters and was followed with the direct-to-DVD The Grudge 3. Overseas, the series has thrived with the recent release: Ju-On: Black/White (now available on Netflix instant).
It’s unknown if this new Grudge film is intended for DVD or for theaters. Sony, which released the American films, has been doing a deft job of exploiting the franchises it owns for the direct-to-DVD market, so perhaps this is a small-scale project. Time will tell.
Just watch, it will be a “found footage” take on The Grudge…
