Finnish import arrives in theaters this week
The Hollywood sharks are a predictable lot. They’re already circling another import to “Americanize.”
Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale opens in limited release this Friday from Oscilloscope Laboratories. In a morning interview with director Jalmari Helander, he told us, “There’s lot of conversation about the remake right now. We’re seeing what’s happening. It would be interesting to see an American, more mainstream version [of Rare Exports].”
Shocker.
The Finnish film tells of an archeological dig that exhumes Santa Claus frozen in a block of ice. Things go awry, however, when children begin to go missing from the nearby town. Terrific little flick. Stay tuned for our full interview with Helander later this week.
