Ellis Arms Himself for War Monkeys

Final Destination vet picks another project

War Monkeys is knocking ’em down. Directors that is. When the project was first announced, Dylan Dog: Dead of Night‘s Kevin Munroe was going to sit at the helm. Then it was going to be Kyle Newman.

If all goes according to plan, our sources out of Cannes tell us David “the man of a hundred potential projects” Ellis is the latest director attached to the project.

Job security for Ellis – who also brought us Final Destination 2 and The Final Destination – is golden right now. He’s gearing up to shoot Shark Night 3D this summer (about a group of kids on a boating excursion that goes awry). There’s also Bad Luck in the pipeline as well as the funky alien thriller Humpty Dumpty, both expected to be in 3D. Based on his fascination with the technology, one could presume Ellis is talking with the War Monkeys producers about doing that project in 3D as well, but that’s unconfirmed right now.

Written by Cleve Nettles, War Monkeys follows two guys trapped in an underground research facility with military-trained Rhesus monkeys.
