Amy Acker on the Whedon-Goddard film
It’s not news to me – because I’ve had to keep my mouth shut about everything I know about Drew Goddard’s The Cabin in the Woods (written by Joss Whedon) in fear that the studio will send masked men to kill my loved ones – but you might like to know the film is indeed a creature feature.
And Amy Acker confirmed that to SciFi Wire at WonderCon over the weekend. “There’s a lot of scary monsters,” she told them. The actress, who has worked with Whedon in the past, co-stars with Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Bradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins.
“It’s about a cabin in the woods,” she adds. “It does take from the sort of formula of the horror movie of this group of young kids who go away to a cabin in the woods for the weekend, and everything that happens and what you think is supposed to happen.”
The Cabin in the Woods was supposed to be released in January until the filmmaker decided to take a year to convert it to 3D, so you can now expect it on January 14, 2011.
