Update on Cage period thriller
Update: Our Lionsgate rep has confirmed the film is leaving the March date. Unfortunately, a new date has not been determined.
While we await a word from our reps, I wanted to note a change that was made recently to Lionsgate’s press site.
It appears the Nicolas Cage film Season of the Witch has dropped out of its March 19 release date. Lionsgate claimed that date last June. Now it is listed as “Coming Soon” on the press site.
Competition-wise, Season was to face off against Universal’s Repo Men and the Kristen Stewart-starring The Runaways. It’s very possible that Lionsgate is eyeing a free date in April such as the 9th now that The Losers exited that spot, however, that would mean Season would have to contend with another Lionsgate film in its second week, Kick-Ass, also starring Cage.
I’ll update this spot when we hear more.
