Expect an Amblin Feel from Forthcoming Jitters

A new script sold to Paramount

An apropos announcement comes via The Hollywood Reporter on the eve of Halloween…

Paramount has picked up the original screenplay Jitters by Marc Haimes. A former Dreamworks exec, Haimes also penned Elevator Men which was sold to Summit Entertainment earlier this year with the intention of Fredrik Bond to direct.

Haimes will also produce Jitters which is described as “a creepy family film in the early-’80s Amblin mold (think Gremlins).”

Capturing that Amblin feel is definitely one thing filmmakers seem to be doing these days. I’ve heard “Amblin” dropped into pitches for many upcoming projects including Joe Dante’s The Hole.
