Could be used for Blu-Ray release

Now that Fox Home Entertainment has issued Mirrors on DVD and Blu-Ray, director Alexandre Aja is hoping the studio will go back and re-issue The Hills Have Eyes in the latter format.
“If Fox wants to do Hills Have Eyes on Blu-Ray with new material and new behind-the-scenes [footage] we have all the deleted scenes we didn’t put on the DVD,” he reveals ShockTillYouDrop.com. Elaborating on the excised footage, “we have close to ten minutes of scenes. [They contain] a lot of character development and there are a few gore scenes, violent, but very tense and suspenseful.”
When Aja’s The Hills Have Eyes, a remake of the Wes Craven film, was initially released on DVD it hit the streets in a regular and “uncut” format.
