They’re going to make a killing this summer
Universal Studios will release Rogue’s home invasion thriller The Strangers on Friday, May 30th.
Shock received the exclusive tip last evening that Bryan Bertino’s directorial horror debut, starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, will receive a wide theatrical bow, a counter-programming measure on Universal’s behalf. Also opening on the 30th: Sex and the City: The Movie and the Eddie Murphy sci-fi comedy Meet Dave. Clive Barker’s Midnight Meat Train opens two weeks prior allowing The Strangers a fair amount of killing, er, breathing room.
In the film, Tyler and Speedman play a couple targeted by three masked strangers who infiltrate their home. You can watch an early trailer for the film here; a new preview, we’re told, is currently being prepped. For more insight on the flick, read our interview with Bertino here.
