Christopher Lee attached to star
Robert Englund has been consumed by the directing bug. With his sophomore effort Killer Pad hitting shelves tomorrow, the former-Freddy Krueger is moving on to helm The Vij starring Christopher Lee and Olga Shuvalova.
Based on an eponymous novel by Russian writer Nikolaj Gogol, the story revolves around an evil genie who conditions the actions of a young priest, leading him to commit murder and fall in love with an old witch who is actually not what she seems.
Englund, who is also going to co-star, is currently in Italy preparing for a early April principal photography star. Producer Loris Curci is producing for Rome-based horror shingle ReDark in association with Canada’s Remstar and Spain’s Canonigo Films.
More casting announcements are on the way.
