An eco-horror creature feature
Myriad Pictures will begin principal photography on a creature feature entitled Hybrid later this year. The film sprung from a recent partnership between the production outfit and comic book publisher Studio 47 (more here).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peter Kwong will pen the script based on his comic book of the same name. Kwong’s deal reportedly was made pre-WGA strike.
In the film, labeled an eco-horror film, college students are stalked by a mutated monstrosity swimming in polluted waters. This beast “gets his revenge on humans by ‘fishing’ for them in the sea.” Kwong’s comic is set to hit stands in June.
Shooting is expected to take place off the coast of Thailand. Meanwhile, Myriad is prepping the theatrical release of Dario Argento’s Mother of Tears.
