Shyamalan’s R-rated Happening

And crowd shocked by AvP2 footage

Amsterdam’s Cinema Expo is in full swing and Variety just filed a report from the second day where 20th Century Fox’s Paul Hanneman and Tomas Jegeus presented a packed crowd with previews of the studio’s upcoming slate.

There are two things worth noting from the piece…

Apparently M. Night Shyamalan sent a taped message promising that his next feature, the Mark Wahlberg-starring The Happening, will deliver on R-rated thrills and “will scare the crap out of audiences. You are going to get traumatized.” (I still am…from Lady in the Water. Zing!)

Then, there’s this snippet from the trade paper’s coverage about the upcoming Alien vs. Predator 2: Jegeus prefaced a scene from “Alien vs. Predator: AVP2,” which goes out on Dec. 25, by saying, “In space no one can hear you scream, but in Amsterdam everyone can.” The horror clip elicited the desired shocked response from the packed auditorium.
