The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Production Not Shut Down

A rumor is spreading fast that Rooney Mara has suffered a severe injury to her shoulder on the Swedish set of David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and that the production has been shut down. ComingSoon.net sources tell us that there is no truth to this at all. Filming is continuing as scheduled.

Starring Daniel Craig, Mara, Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright and Max von Sydow, the film is based on Stieg Larsson’s posthumously published crime thriller trilogy, “The Millennium Series.”

The book describes the mystery surrounding the long-unsolved disappearance of an heiress. A journalist recently dinged by a libel case and a young female hacker try to resolve it, stirring up bundles of personal and industrial corruption along the way.

Sony has set a December 21, 2011 release for the film.
