Robin Wright is in talks to star in David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, reports Deadline New York.
She is in talks to play Erika Berger, the publisher of crusading finance magazine “Millennium,” and the occasional lover of journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig). Wright’s deal would include options for the sequels, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.
Stellan Skarsgård has also said that he is in negotiations to play Martin Vanger, one of the principal suspects in the 40-year-old disappearance of a teenage girl.
Sony Pictures, Fincher and producer Scott Rudin are currently searching for the actress to play hacker Lisbeth Salander.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, based on Stieg Larsson’s book, is scheduled for a December 21, 2011 release.
