Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright are in early talks to join Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill in Columbia Pictures’ Moneyball, reports Variety.
Hoffman would reteam with his Capote director Bennett Miller if the deal goes through.
Based on Michael Lewis’ nonfiction bestseller “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game,” the book’s subject is Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane, who assembled a contending baseball club on a shoestring budget by employing a sophisticated computer-based analysis to draft players. Wright would portray Beane’s ex-wife.
Filming is scheduled to start this July in Los Angeles.
