It’s Official! New Gilmore Girls Episodes Are Coming

Get ready to return to Stars Hollow as Netflix is officially set to deliver new Gilmore Girls episodes

As reported back in October, Netflix has been looking into developing new Gilmore Girls episodes. Today, the plans have been made official! Netflix will be bringing back series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband, executive producer Daniel Palladino. The pair infamously left the series before Gilmore Girl’s seventh and final season.

Gilmore Girls, which aired between 2000 and 2007, is set in Stars Hollow, a storybook Connecticut town populated by an eclectic mix of dreamers, artists and everyday folk. The multi-generational drama about family and friendship centers around Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her daughter, Rory (Alexis Bledel). Lorelai owns the town’s bed-and-breakfast, the Dragonfly Inn, with best friend/chef Sookie (Melissa McCarthy), and contends with weekly dinners with eccentric, well-off parents Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop), who always have something to say about their daughter’s life.

Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena are all confirmed to be returning for the new Gilmore Girls episodes. Specific plans for how the new Gilmore Girls episodes will debut have not yet been confirmed, although rumors have suggested that the streaming service will release four 90-minute Gilmore Girls telefilms, designed to wrap up the series as Sherman-Palladino originally intended.

Lauren Graham took to Twitter this afternoon to share word of the new Gilmore Girls revival:

I CAN NOW CONFIRM: it’s time for me, and this jacket I stole in 2007, to return to work.@netflix #GilmoreGirls pic.twitter.com/tBb07J9oO1
