I recently rewatched George Miller‘s Mad Max (1979) courtesy of Shout Factory’s new Blu-ray release releasing May 5 and I want to give Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) another watch before I settle in for Mad Max: Fury Road, which I’ve learned I’ll be seeing the May 11, just a few days before its May 15 release. It’s a date I think we’ve all been anticipating since that first trailer, not to mention the continually insane trailers that have followed since. Well, today I have one more for you, though this one is just as much about the new movie hitting theaters as it is about the two that started it all.
[amz asin=”B00T73AO0W” size=”small”]Set somewhere between the events of Mad Max and The Road Warrior, Fury Road finds Tom Hardy stepping in for the original Max Rockatansky, Mel Gibson as he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron). They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
