2013 Warner Bros. Summer Preview: ‘Man of Steel’, ‘Hangover 3’, ‘Pacific Rim’ and More

Warner Bros. is the first studio to lift the lid on their crop of 2013 summer films beginning with The Great Gatsby, which will not only hit theaters on May 10, but will also open the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

From there films include Insidious director James Wan‘s new film The Conjuring, the Selena Gomez and Ethan Hawke thriller Getaway, the return of the Wolf Pack in The Hangover Part III, Zack Snyder‘s take on the Superman origin produced by Christopher Nolan Man of Steel, Guillermo del Toro‘s monster movie Pacific Rim and the Jennifer Aniston-led comedy We’re the Millers.

Finally, and the only movie that does not yet have any accompanying images for you to check out, 300: Rise of an Empire, which appears to still be on track for an August 2 release, but we’ll see.

I have included a preview image and information on each film over the next couple pages. You can click on any of the links to browse more images in each gallery. Of the films listed there is at least one new image for The Great Gatsby, The Hangover Part III, Man of Steel, Getaway and The Conjuring as well as a new Coyote Tango poster for Pacific Rim. Enjoy!

THE GREAT GATSBY

May 10

Director: Baz Luhrmann

Writers: Screenplay by Baz Luhrmann & Craig Pearce

Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Jason Clarke and Amitabh Bachchan

“The Great Gatsby” follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and sky-rocketing stocks. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy (Carey Mulligan), and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton). It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without of the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

THE HANGOVER PART III

May 24

Director: Todd Phillips

Writers: Todd Phillips & Craig Mazin

Cast: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms , Zach Galifianakis, Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor, Justin Bartha, John Goodman, Sasha Barrese, Gillian Vigman and Jamie Chung

“The Hangover Part III” is the third and final film in director Todd Phillips’ record-shattering comedy franchise. This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

The next page includes Man of Steel, Pacific Rim and The Conjuring.
