Let’s face it. When you’re one of the human actors in a Disney talking animal movie, it’s more than likely you’ll be taking a backseat to whatever furry creature is on-screen with you, though that might not entirely be the case with two of the non-CG stars of producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s first foray into 3D movies, G-Force.
The premise of the movie revolves around a secret government agency training small furry guinea pigs for espionage, the team consisting of team leader Darwin (voiced by Sam Rockwell), weapons expert Blaster (Tracy Morgan), sexy martial arts pro Juarez (Penélope Cruz) and their mole computer specialist Speckles (Nicolas Cage). Unfortunately, the government decides to close the program, sending them to a pet shop where they have to escape with the help of the constantly flatulent Hurley (Jon Favreau) and the territorial hamster Bucky (Steve Buscemi).
Last week, we had a chance to talk with Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) and Bill Nighy (“Pirates of the Caribbean” films) about their roles in the movie, as G-Force trainer Ben and nemesis Leonard Saber, respectively, in the new Disney movie that marks the directorial debut for FX specialist Hoyt Yeatman Jr. (The Abyss).
