According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zack Snyder’s animated film based on Kathryn Lansky’s children’s book Guardians of Ga’Hoole is starting to line up its voice cast with Jim Sturgess (21), Geoffrey Rush (Elizabeth), Rachael Taylor (Transformers) and David Wenham (300) all signing on for supporting roles.
Produced by Warner Brothers and Village Roadshow along with Australian animation house Animal Logic, who previously animated George Miller’s Oscar-winning penguin movie Happy Feet, the film follows the story of a young barn owl and his friends who join the mythical Guardians of Ga’Hoole to protect the owl kingdom.
The film is already in production with Hugh Jackman, Hugo Weaving and Ryan Kwanten providing key voices, and it’s scheduled for release on July 30, 2010.
