Gary Anthony Williams Cast as Bebop in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

Deadline brings word that actor Gary Anthony Williams (“Malcolm in the Middle,” “The Boondocks”) is set to take on the role of the humanoid warthog, Bebop, for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. His rhinoceros partner in crime, Rocksteady, remains uncast.

As in the original “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” cartoon series, Bebop will begin the film as a member of a gang who is recruited by Shredder to take revenge on the Turtles and in the process becomes the gun-toting pig we know. The character was supposed to appear in 1991’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, but since the character first appeared in the cartoon and not the comic, it was changed due to rights.

Megan Fox and Will Arnett lead a cast that also includes William Fichtner as Eric Sacks and newcomers Tyler Perry as scientist Baxter Stockman, Brian Tee as the new Shredder, and Stephen Amell as the sports-themed vigilante Casey Jones. Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, and Noel Fisher will reprise their roles as Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo (Johnny Knoxville did the voice), and Michelangelo.

The original film, which grossed more than $485 million at the worldwide box office, also starred Danny Woodburn and Tony Shalhoub.

Set to be directed by Earth to Echo‘s David Green, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is set for release on June 3, 2016
