Sarah Paulson Checks in for American Horror Story: Hotel

“American Horror Story” veteran Sarah Paulson is officially returning for the fifth installment, “Hotel,” FX has just revealed. The next chapter in Ryan Murphy’s hit anthology series, “American Horror Story: Hotel” represents Paulson’s fifth appearance in the series, having previously starred in the recently completed “AHS: Freak Show,” as well as “AHS: Coven,” “AHS: Asylum” and “AHS: Murder House.”

Paulson joins previously-announced stars Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Chloë Sevigny.

Paulson has received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for “American Horror Story” and, among other awards, won the Critics Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie/Miniseries in 2011 for “AHS: Asylum.” Paulson starred as Bette Tattler/Dot Tattler in the most recent installment, “Freak Show.” Prior to that, she played “Cordelia Foxx” on AHS: Coven, “Lana Winters” on AHS: Asylum, and “Billie Dean Howard” on “AHS: Murder House.”

Paulson has also joined the cast of Ryan Murphy’s next anthology series for FX, “American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson,” as prosecutor Marcia Clark. She will appear in the feature films Carol, from Todd Hayes, and The Runner, starring Nicholas Cage.

Production of the 13-episode “Hotel” will begin in Los Angeles in late summer, and will air on FX in October. The “American Horror Story” franchise is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television.
