HBO has just released a trailer for “Togetherness,” a new comedy series from Jay and Mark Duplass (Cyrus, Jeff, Who Lives at Home). Check it out in the player below!
Written and directed by Jay and Mark Duplass, the latter also headlines the series opposite Melanie Lynskey (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Heavenly Creatures), Amanda Peet (Something’s Gotta Give, Identity) and Steve Zissis (her, Baghead).
Blending laughter and pathos, the show follows four adults nearing 40, living under the same roof and struggling to keep their relationships and their dreams alive. Brett (Mark Duplass) and Michelle (Lynskey) are struggling to rekindle the spark in their relationship, which has puttered out from the stresses of marriage and children. When Brett’s friend Alex (Zissis) and Michelle’s sister, Tina (Peet), move in with them, the foursome engage in a tragically comedic struggle to follow their personal dreams, while still remaining good friends, siblings and spouses to each other.
The eight-episode first season of “Togetherness” premieres on HBO Sunday, January 11 at 9:30pm.
