DreamWorks and Red Hour are teaming on the comedy In Deep as a potential starring vehicle for Ben Stiller, says The Hollywood Reporter. Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) is attached to direct the project, which is based on an original screenplay by George Beckerman.
Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness) has been hired to do a Page One rewrite/reconceive of Beckerman’s screenplay, which chronicles the nightmarish tale of a man who fights a parking ticket and becomes increasingly enmeshed in criminal allegations.
Red Hour’s Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld are producing In Deep, and Robert Weide and Romanek are executive producing.
Red Hour has several films in development and production with DreamWorks, including the Stiller-helmed comedy Tropic Thunder and the vacation-from-hell thriller The Ruins.
