Following the release of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Ajay Devgn has quickly shifted his focus to his upcoming projects. Nearly 12 years after the release of Son of Sardaar, the makers are planning a sequel titled Son of Sardaar 2. The first installment featured Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles, and the sequel initially aimed to reunite the iconic duo. However, recent reports have confirmed that Sanjay Dutt will not be part of the sequel due to unforeseen circumstances.
Who is likely to replace Sanjay Dutt in Son of Sardaar 2?
Recently, lead actor Ajay Devgn took to social media to share glimpses hinting at the commencement of shooting for Son of Sardaar 2. Reportedly, the cast and crew are planning to film in the UK. However, Sanjay Dutt’s visa applications for the UK have been consistently denied since his arrest in 1993, which has led to significant changes in the casting.
A source revealed, “Ever since his arrest in 1993, while Sanju has traveled to the US, he has applied for a UK visa multiple times but never got one. The Son of Sardaar 2 shoot would have been his first trip to the UK. After Ajay’s team found out that the senior actor’s visa request had been rejected, they replaced him with Ravi Kishan.”
Consequently, due to this visa issue, Sanjay Dutt decided to step back from Son of Sardaar 2. According to the latest reports, actor-politician Ravi Kishan has been cast in Dutt’s role.
Furthermore, the source provided insights about Sanjay Dutt’s role in Housefull 5. The makers plan to shoot in London this September. Regarding this, the source stated, “Sajid has chosen a wiser route. While the shooting with the cast begins in London, all of Sanju’s portions will be filmed in Mumbai. So, there are no issues on that front.”
With Ravi Kishan stepping into the antagonist role, it will be intriguing to see how his performance brings a fresh dynamic to the film. Stay tuned for more updates.
