Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 5 recap

Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 5, “The Curtain Rises,” shows Akane asking Gotanda to show Aqua’s acting projects from his childhood. To Gotanda’s surprise, Aqua approves. The former explains how Aqua relied on others’ acting to perform in his shows. This due to the fact that acting emotionally always triggered Aqua’s trauma.

Akane asks Aqua why he started acting, to which the latter responds by asking what she would do if he did it to kill someone at the top of the entertainment industry. Although shocked, Akane promises to help him in all his pursuits as his girlfriend. In return, she asks Aqua to help defeat Kana on the stage. As such, they agree to seek Gotanda’s help with emotional acting.

The episode shows Ruby and Minami visiting Lalali to meet Aqua and Akane, but Melt tells them they left with Gotanda. Minami suggests Aqua arrives home late since he must be spending intimate time with Akane. This thought disturbs Ruby, who later excuses herself to the restroom.

Later, Kana reveals how Akane used to look up to her, embarrassing Akane. The two’s rivalry heightens as they swear to defeat each other. The episode ends with the Tokyo Blade 2.5D stage play about to begin.
