Since the beginning of the Dance of the Dragons, the Greens have had the upper hand because of Vhagar, the biggest dragon in the world. However, with the Blacks gaining three new dragonriders in House of the Dragon Season 2, things don’t suddenly look good for Aemond Targaryen and his army. As the war continues to escalate, the viewers want to know how many dragons the Greens have in the show. Here is the list of all the dragons in Aemond Targaryen’s army.
List of all dragons and riders in Aemond Targaryen’s army in King’s Landing
Aemond’s army has four flying dragons in total, though Sunfyre can be discounted for now from the tally as he is too wounded to take flight anytime soon.
Aemond Targaryen rides Vhagar
Aemond and Vhagar are the Greens’ two biggest assets. Vhagar was one of the three dragons that helped the Targaryens in the conquest of Westeros and has since survived numerous battles. Further, Aemond has proven himself to be an exceptional rider, making the two a dangerous team. However, he is the only rider among the Greens who is currently in King’s Landing and is fit to ride his dragon.
Daeron Targaryen rides Tessarion
During the Small Council meeting, Aemond learns that Daeron’s dragon Tessarion can now fly. However, Tessarion is quite young and will be no match if she takes on the likes of Vermithor and Silverwing.
Helaena Targaryen rides Dreamfyre
Helaena is bonded to Dreamfyre. In the book, Helaena often used to ride Dreamfyre, but the murder of her son Jaehaerys deeply impacted her, and she never flew again. Given that Helaena has experienced the same traumatic event in the show, it’s unlikely that she will ride her dragon to war.
Aegon II Targaryen rides Sunfyre
While Aegon is still technically Sunfyre’s rider, both he and the dragon are too wounded to be of any help if the Blacks attack King’s Landing. However, those who have read the book will know that Aegon III can potentially reunite with Sunfyre later in the series.
